YUHO KANESHIGE(b.1950-)

We selected him for our first exhibition. Because his tea bowls are very special for people.
He makes each pieces with his prayer,
" May people enjoy every drop of tea with great pleasure and happiness."
Powdered green tea flows slowly and gently from the bottom of the bowl.

Late SOZAN KANESHIGE, a human treasure of HIDASUKI ware of BIZEN often told, " An inside of a tea bowl ...that's everything." That means how beautiful and stylish the teabowl be is not as important as how comfortably people can drink with the bowl. SOZAN often put a un-fired tea bowl on his palms and exmamined carefully how he felt with the drinking motion. He carved and retouched many times until he could feel the bowl was so comfortable for drinking. Mr. Yuho Kaneshige also does the same way. His tea bowls are made to make people to feel a bit of hapiness of the life in a cup of tea.
"When you can pick up a piece of sweet for the day and taste a cup of tea with some friends or by yourself, it should be so nice. May the tea bowl arrange the moment a little bit more comfortable for you." Kaneshige's tea bowl gently speaks and prays for you.
